In Sydney the deciding factor is often the train line: the George Street cluster is walkable from Town Hall and Central, Parramatta and Penrith suit groups from the west, and the regional venues are the only option for a long way around, so they book out early on holiday weekends.
A dedicated escape room centre usually runs several rooms side by side, so ask whether two can start at once if your group is large.
